Our New Home!
(a.k.a. our 'Fixer Uper')
So I have had a bunch of people tell me that I need to update our blogg with our new house so here it comes. Keep in mind that these are before pictures and it is a work in progress. I will post after pictures as they come.
Our new home is on 100W in Tooele. It was built in 1915 and needs quiet a bit of work but thanks to my Dad and the work of others we'll get it looking good.

I'll show the best part first, the Kitchen. This was remodled about 5 years ago and is in pretty good condition.

Here's the tiny bathroom where as my sister says "you can sit on the toilet and wash your hands at the same time!"

This is a picture of the hardwood floors in what will be the living room and office. Dan will be refinishing them.

This is the scary looking back room that will be a storage and laundry room.

"Our Dungeon" the basement is pretty scary but will be nice for storage.

This is an example of the fix ups that needed to be done. If you look closley you can see that this is a fist hole in our wall. See the outline?

An example of a bedroom. We ripped out all of the carpet and are texturing and painting all the walls.
Hard at work of course!

My Dad telling everyone what to do next!

Audrey so dutifully mixing paint. We took a chance and bought some mess up paint and mixed our own color. Thanks to my mom and her eye for color it turned out great.

One of our first major projects was taking down some ugly trees in the yard. The previous owners had done a horrible wack job so we had to take them all the way down. They were probably about 60-70 years old.

Unfortunatly I don't have a good before picture but this is the front of the house after we took down the trees. It looks a lot better.

Paint, paint, and more paint. It's comming along!

A Few Updated Pics
It's been a while so here's a few pics. I will be updating again shortly.
Audrey is growing up more and more everyday. The pic above is one of my favorites. What a cute cowgirl.

Play, play, play that's what Audrey is all about. Wether it's driving Grandpa's lawn mower or making up her own crayon game she keeps on going.

Coloring is also another favorite of Audrey's especially on the white board.
Oh yes and wearing funny hats is also fun.Look at the beautiful little girl with pig tails! Her hair is getting so long.

"I Miss You Dad" -Tribute to Kent D. Petersen

Tuesday, January 01, 2008

Dan & Dave got together with Uncle Mark and did a professional recording of Yodeling Santa Claus. They had a great time getting together and were very happy with the recording.
Mark plans on getting the brothers together soon to do a recording of their vocals as well. We appreciate Marks help and we were thrilled to make this a Petersen family project.

Take a listen to Dan's Christmas Song while you browse our blog.

Life in Erda

Audrey is having a great time here in Erda. She found this toy truck outside and was having a blast on it making all the sound effects.

We had Thanksgiving at our house. Check out the beautiful turkey.

We just had my parents, Anna, and us. It was great.

After dinner things got a little crazy. Here's Anna trying out mom's green bean thing. Disgusting!

We made some awesome rainbow Jello it had 12 layers and took us about 8hours to make it.

Living on the farm Audrey has found a new favorite thing to do. Play in the tractors! Look at that grin.

She takes it quite seriously. Notice the one-handed driving while using the levers with the other hand. To see just how huge the tractor is take a look at the picture below.

It's HUGE next to her!

Another one of Audrey's favorite thing to do is to find cool old junk out in the yard. She found this old bike and just had to get in the basket.

It Snowed!! "What is this white stuff?"

Most of all Audrey loves to play with Mom and Dad.

Weekend Visitors

We are finally getting all settled into our new place. This last weekend Keith & Cheryl came to visit along with their boys we had a great time with them.

Audrey loves having Dillan (center) and Josh (right) around. She has missed them tons.

Audrey, Tyson, and Josh had a great time in the bath together.

Our house has a little metal, spiral staircase in it that Audrey thinks is her jungle-gym. It's very dangerous as you can see so we have to come up with ways to block it off.

Now that we are all settled in it's time to sit back take a 'big drink' and relax! (I'm not sure whose idea this was!)

HAPPY DAY!!!!
So it happened already Dan just got a job. He will be working for Hunter Douglas as their 'Wood Scrap Manager' (WSM). Hunter Douglas produces all sorts of blinds and window coverings http://www.hunterdouglas.com. He will be the manager of 5 or 6 guys. We are so proud of him!

Here he is just getting home from the interview, spreading the good news to his mom. They interviewed about 10 people and chose Dan to be their man.

HALLOWEEN!!

We had a great Halloween Audrey was a frog take a look at some of the pictures.

Here's the little tadpole with Grandma.

She was a Woman on a mission!

Here's a little video clip of Audrey on the move.

This is Audrey at her very first door. We only went to a few houses but she loaded up cause everyone thought she was so cute and let her take more than one piece.

The Big Move
For those of you who haven't heared we packed up and moved up North to Erda. It was sad to leave Cedar City & all our friends behind but I think the change will be for the good.

We packed and packed, well Audrey unpacked and cleaned and cleaned.

We made sure to pack all our 'precious' things into boxes!

One of the nights we took a break to go visit Gram & Gramp Allen.

Then we got the UHAUL and started loading it up. Audrey couldn't figure out why the tv was in the back of a truck.

Now we are here in Erda trying to get all settled in. Audrey is picking up fast how to live in the country!
